Bone Grafting & Sinus Lift for Dental Implants in Beirut

Being told you lack sufficient bone for an implant is not a final answer — it is the beginning of a different treatment plan. Bone loss after tooth extraction is predictable and progressive. It does not disqualify a patient from implant treatment. It changes the sequence.

In Beirut, bone reconstruction before or simultaneously with implant placement is a routine part of Dr. Zarifeh's surgical practice. As Head of Oral Surgery at CMC Hospital Beirut (Johns Hopkins International affiliated), with over 20 years of complex bone augmentation experience, he has managed bone deficiencies across the full spectrum of severity — from minor socket preservation to major sinus lifts and block bone grafting.

1. Sinus Lift — Upper Jaw Bone Augmentation in Beirut

When upper back teeth are lost, the sinus floor descends and bone height decreases — often making standard implant placement unsafe without first elevating the sinus membrane and grafting the space below it.

  • Internal sinus lift: For moderate bone loss (4–8mm available). Performed through the implant site itself, less invasive, with implant placement often possible in the same session.
  • External lateral window sinus lift: For significant bone deficiency (less than 4mm). A lateral window allows direct access to the sinus membrane and larger graft volume. Implants are typically placed after a healing period.

2. Bone Grafting — Upper and Lower Jaw

Upper jaw: GBR (guided bone regeneration) for moderate buccal defects; block bone grafting for larger volume requirements. Socket preservation at time of extraction prevents bone loss from occurring in the first place.

Lower jaw: Block bone grafting for severe buccal wall defects. Easy Graft Crystal (non-resorbable beta-tricalcium phosphate) for minor to moderate deficiencies. Socket preservation equally critical.

3. Graft Materials

Dr. Zarifeh's preferred protocol combines synthetic Easy Graft with autogenous bone chips — pairing the structural scaffold of a synthetic material with the biological activity of the patient's own cells. The selection is made individually per case based on defect size, location, and planned implant timeline.

Were you told you don't have enough bone for implants in Beirut?

In most cases, bone reconstruction makes implants possible. A 3D scan with Dr. Zarifeh will show exactly what is needed and whether grafting and implant placement can be combined in one procedure.

Patient Testimonials
"Two clinics in Beirut refused to treat me because of insufficient bone. Dr. Zarifeh performed a lateral sinus lift and placed the implants six months later. The precision of the planning and the surgical outcome were beyond anything I expected."
— Patient, Beirut
"Dr. Zarifeh preserved the socket with a graft at the same appointment as my extraction. When the implant was placed eight months later, the bone was perfect — no additional grafting needed. That foresight saved months of treatment."
— Patient, Achrafieh
